AlphaBio Control welcomes announcement of new public investment in plant and microbial science hub in Norwich
8 June 2023: AlphaBio Control, the award-winning agricultural technology company committed to finding exceptional plant protection products from natural sources, welcomes the announcement yesterday of a £300 million investment by UKRI in new infrastructure for research institutes at the Norwich Research Park.
Iain Fleming, Cofounder and Chief Executive of AlphaBio said: “With more mouths to feed, the impact of climate change and a need to reduce the environment impact of food production, agriculture around the world needs better research and development. This announcement of state-of-the-art facilities for the John Innes Centre and the Sainsbury Laboratory is a big step in the right direction.
“With better genetics and a better understanding of the fundamentals of how plants grow and resist pests and diseases, coupled with better crop protection products, we can produce more food with a lower carbon and environmental footprint, something very close to our hearts here at AlphaBio.”
