New role for AlphaBio: Management / Financial Accountant

Position Description

Job title: Management / Financial Accountant (Part Time 2-year contract)

Position in the organization chart:

Reporting to: Finance Director

Close collaboration with: Leadership Team members (Research, Market and Technical Development and Science & Regulatory Affairs Heads ) and Operations support.

Job summary:

To support the Finance Director in maintaining the AlphaBio and De Sangosse accounting system, process and reporting requirements:

  • Build relationships with AlphaBio and De Sangosse staff.
  • To maintain and improve the financial accounting system and procedures.
  • Support the FD in preparing internal and external reports.
  • Take ownership of the management accounting and reporting process.

Required Education and Experience Essential:

– Qualified Accountant ACCA ACA CIMA.

– Proficient in English – spoken and written.

– Experience of ERP systems Sap B1 and Xero preferred.

– Good attention to detail.

– Computer literacy for the use of Excel, other MSOffice software.

– Up to date knowledge of UK GAAP along with knowledge of International Standards.

Desirable

– Experience in an International company.

– Computer literacy for the use of reporting in Xero and SAP.

– Experience using tools like Approval Max and Dext or similar.

– Other languages. E.g. French, Italian, Spanish.

Location: This role is hybrid/home-based with required location: Suffolk (UK), and with availability to travel to France, Spain, or Italy for occasional internal team meetings.

Key Job responsibilities/accountability

To Support the Finance Director in the following tasks:

  • Production of monthly management accounts to a high standard.
  • Assisting with developing and managing budgets for companies.
  • Complete intercompany reconciliations.
  • Accruals and prepayments.
  • Cashflow forecasting.  
  • Wages and other monthly Journals.
  • Prepare bank payment runs.
  • Preparing submitting VAT returns.
  • Bank Reconciliations.
  • Processing staff expenses.
  • Raising Purchases orders in the system.
  • Managing suppliers and customers accounting contacts.
  • Managing chart of accounts with Operations, Technical & Regulatory Team.
