Formed in 2011 by Iain Fleming and Alfeo Vecchi, AlphaBio was created by two people with a big vision.

Iain and Alfeo could see the damage being done to the planet by intensive food production and knew there were realistic and effective softer chemistry alternatives that could solve these global issues. These effective, sustainable crop protection technologies would enable growers to produce top quality food, whilst protecting the natural environment.

Today, AlphaBio produces the agricultural technologies for tomorrow’s crop cultivation. It meets the demands of feeding a growing global population sustainably, and in a way that safeguards and promotes biodiversity wherever we produce our food.

AlphaBio is committed to the development of plant protection solutions from natural and sustainable sources. It believes passionately in environmental, social and corporate governance, and firmly believes It can help to create a truly sustainable agricultural model, which will improve food quality and increase production yield whilst reducing its impact.

By protecting the environment, insects and pollinators are able to establish and thrive, and act as natural allies for the food production industry.

AlphaBio is an award-winning company, having won the Green Apple Environmental Award for Environmental Best Practice in 2018, the Queens Award for Enterprise in 2021 and a Global Green Business Award in 2022.

AlphaBio has international reach with offices in Cambridge, Bury St. Edmunds, Milan, Reggio Emilia and Valencia.

“We could see that our food system was uncomfortably reliant on technologies that protected crops, but also irreparably harmed bees, bugs, people and our planet.”
